Hell is real. Jesus preached on the subject of hell more than any other person mentioned in the Bible. He spoke of hell as a literal place. Hell is not a metaphor. Hell is a prison for the unbelieving dead - and it will be thrown into an eternal lake of fire after the Great White Throne Judgment (Matthew 10:28, Matthew 23:33, Luke 16:22-24, Revelation 20:11-15). Jesus said there is only one way to avoid going to hell. According to Jesus, the only way to avoid hell is to trust in Him to save you from it (John 14:6, John 10:9-10). The path to salvation is by grace through faith in Christ. Acts 4:12 states, "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." How You Can Be Reconciled to God Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For He says: "In an acceptable time I have heard you, Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 5:17-6:2).
